New Penny Stove Forum !
A Penny Stove is a very simple design that is made from 2 aluminum beverage cans. It burns alcohol and and has several holes drilled around the outside with a little larger hole in the center for filling. A Penny is used to cover the hole before lighting and remains on top of hole to help pressurize. The nice thing is the simplicity and availability of the fuel. It will burn on Iso-Heet ( the stuff you put in your cars gas tank in winter) or denatured alcohol. They are sometimes called a Soda Can Stove or Pop Can Stove. There are many variations and it is very popular with ultralight backpackers.

Next one I make Jet holes will be a tick smaller then 1/16"(1.6mm)

My Penny Stove in action
I use 1/4" square hardware cloth for potstand.

3-1/2" (90mm) in diameter.
A small thin tray under stove for priming. Outside you will need some type of windscreen.
